California Theatre of the Performing Arts Hosted Evita

Terry Chucas

Since 2010, attorney Terry Chucas has worked on dependency court appeals cases, particularly in the San Diego, California, area. When not in court or in his office, Terry Chucas enjoys going to the theater and seeing his favorite musical, Evita.

The musical Evita tells the story of Eva Peron, who was the wife of former Argentina dictator Juan Peron. The story explains how she achieved power and wealth, set to acclaimed songs such as “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” and “You Must Love Me.” The musical, which is the brainchild of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Weber, began as a rock opera album in 1976, which led to a stage musical and production in London in 1978. It opened on Broadway the following year and then became a film starring Madonna in 1996.
In early 2017, the California Theatre of the Performing Arts in San Bernardino announced that it would host four performances of Evita. The performances took place on April 7 and April 8 with shows at 8 p.m. followed by performances at 2 p.m. on April 8 and April 9. Built in 1928, the theater seats 1,718 guests and hosts a variety of performances throughout the year.
