You can do several things you can do to help you read more books if you're having trouble making reading a habit. Reading books on subjects you are interested in is one thing you may do. If you like politics, for instance, beginning with a few political biographies can greatly boost your likelihood of finishing the books you read. It's common for readers to begin with bestsellers. But the fact that a book is popular doesn't guarantee you'll enjoy it. You may find it challenging to finish the bestseller book you selected if it doesn't appeal to your interests.

Another strategy for forming and maintaining a reading habit is to set aside a day to read. To develop your reading habit, you could resolve to read for 30 minutes each day during the workweek. Sometimes, it might not be possible to meet this daily goal. Therefore, you could pick a day of the week when you can catch up on reading. Sundays are wonderful reading days because you probably won't have plenty to do and will be off work. Stay away from distractions so you can focus on reading during this time.

Another effective strategy to develop a reading habit is to follow the 50-page rule. The books you select must again be fun to read, and the 50-page limit ensures this. According to the guideline, if you don't enjoy a book after reading the first 50 pages, put it down and choose another one.
